The Psychotherapist will be responsible for providing psychotherapy to and managing the clinical needs of a caseload of adults living with serious mental illness. They will maintain consumer information in the electronic health record and coordinate services with other providers

Responsibilities:
– Conduct individual and group counseling sessions using various therapeutic techniques and in accordance with scope of practice and regulations governing the agency
– Perform diagnostic evaluations to assess clients’ mental health conditions and develop treatment plans
– Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families on topics such as coping skills, stress management, and self-care
– Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure holistic treatment approaches
– Maintain and monitor the accurate and confidential client data and records in compliance with legal and ethical standards
– Conduct limited outreach and marketing to potential referral sources internal and external to the agency. Stay up-to-date with current research and best practices in the field of psychotherapy

Requirements:
– LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LCAT required.
– MHC and MSW meeting the requirements for NYS limited permit are eligible, however, full licensure must be acquired within 6 months of hire date
– Proficiency in medical terminology and psychopharmacology
– National Provider ID Number (NPI Number)
– Experience with underserved populations and direct service to people living with serious and persistent mental illness
– Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish rapport with diverse clients
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
– Ability to maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical guidelines
