Duties:
– Provide direct patient care and support to homeless individual with psychiatric disorders
– Administer medications and monitor their effectiveness
– Conduct assessments and develop individualized care plans
– Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
– Implement and evaluate nursing interventions to promote mental health and well-being
– Monitor patients for changes in behavior, mood, or physical condition
– Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment options
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and provide in service staff training and consultation for the social service team
Skills:
– Previous experience with homeless population and strong knowledge of psychiatric nursing standards and best practices
– Licensed as a Registered Nurse in New York State and credentialed by the State
– Must be registered as a State Medicaid provider. Must posses a DEA number and a NPI#
– Must have malpractice insurance
– Competence in medication administration, including psychotropic medications
– Ability to work independently and as a team player
– Understanding of infection control protocols in a healthcare setting
– Ability to work with adults males of diverse ethnicities, backgrounds, ages, and sexual preferences. Bilingual is preferred.
